Lights

0
6:35 AM

Fun Fact #1: Lights
"It is visible.
But I can also be invisible."

I've always fancied taking bokeh shots ever since the first time I was able to use a 50mm lens on my Elder sister's Nikon D700.

It actually inspired me and brought me into the world of photography. (although I wish someday I can be considered as a photographer)

So there we were, me and one of my best of friends, pointing and shooting the lights after a long tiring day. around our school campus trying to relax our minds.

The way different colors mixed, overlapping each other in different levels of opacity and texture on a dark starry night always seemed to make me space out.

You? What relaxes your mind? :)

When observing and stalking collide

0
8:09 AM

So we were tasked today by our MC Elect C ( Theatre Arts ) instructor to observe a subject for 40 minutes in designated areas.

We had to observe the character's Principles and everything about them.. mannerism, self-grooming, the way they speak, the way they react... and much more. Although we had to keep a low profile.

Jamming off with group mates we started spotting off people and the way they act.. I myself knew I wouldn't last long for 40 minutes trying to fake my presence and maintaining this profile.

As moments passed subjects came and left... although our challenge was to have a subject that actually stayed for 40 minutes. If the person had left in a shorter period than the allotted time, consider your observation void.

Deep in my mind I knew I was looking for someone.. someone who would make my day.

My mind flew while trying to look for a victim, and there I found myself staring at someone who looked familiar from a distance.

I stoop up thinking it must have been someone I had known, an old classmate or a recent friend or acquaintance. Moments later I found myself following the person with my eyes from corner to corner.
I then had realized it that was a person I had idolized and looked forward to seeing back in my first year college days. Cause I knew deep inside it would make my day.

I did know the person although I never took time to realize if I was staring blankly or had already been discovered spacing out, therefore me being the victim.

Then I thought to myself.. was I observing or stalking?
You decide. Continue reading →

Amalayer?

7:38 AM

AMALAYER? AMALAWYER? AMASORRY? AMADOVEGIRL AND I LOVE IT?

Phrases that went viral in just a day gaining 19 thousand comments and more to come since the last time I viewed the video.

Polls on "Amaledigard" and "Amalayer" have been swarming up websites, Facebook to be one of them, causing more and more commotion to a situation.

My bubble on the issue ( which has currently subsided ) was that since I had been through the same situation as the victim of Netizens.

As far as I've observed..
One, I find nothing typically wrong with her accent.
Two, She could've been having a bad day like everyone else
Three, Self defense... come on people, if someone gave you attitude and you bursted on the spot, then the other party denies in public who wouldn't react? It maybe have looked like she over reacted but we all could've done it. She was just unlucky someone caught it on tape.
Four, People barely know the real story, those who speak and degrade her are fools. Attacking her with comments when they never actually witnessed the happening.
Lastly, People just exaggerated it, making it viral so they would have another issue to rant about on the web.

I saw this brave soul's post and read throughout it... That's right... Give her a break.. You would've asked for the same if you were in her situation..

It wouldn't hurt to be sweet. ;)

0
5:02 AM

A sweet tooth is not that bad. Take a pick, open up, smile, and take a break and a bite.
Who said sweets were bad? Not unless you're diabetic then I guess so.

Sweets changes a person's mood. believe it or not. And obvious fact it is. Especially since I'm a chocolate lover.

A bite or two will cure you. I once told a friend who was bitter as a bitter gourd after a long hard day.
She took a bite, sooner or later we ended up laughing.
not sure if she was faking it, but then we ended up thinking on the brighter side of things.

Sweets are sweet. no one can deny it. (well duh)
I've had too much for the rest of my life, trying to taste every type of chocolate.

Don't know if it's a drug but I call it that way.
just remember.

Earth is the only planet with chocolate existing.
So save the earth!

Oh... and the chocolates too! ;) Continue reading →

Mass Com? Hmm...

0
4:56 AM

"Arangkada Balita"

the name we gave our major project on TV and Speech Performance for our own News Package as a Final Requirement as a third year college student.

"not everything you see on TV is real"
and old quote I remembered as a kid.

I wondered if it were real. So there I took it as a challenge to actually experience the training behind the camera.

And here goes the confession of a MassCom student who barely knows what she's talking about.

Love Media? Go for MassCom
Love News? Go for MassCom
Love Reporting? Go for MassCom
Love Acting? Try Jumping off a bridge.

Just kidding with the last one.

MassCom's a heck of a course. Doesn't mean it doesn't have math it's gonna be easy.

So far, where I'm standing now somehow tells me what you see from TV is not real is partially a lie
but what you hear could be the truth hidden in a lie.

But what ever it is, I'm a Proud Mass Communication student.

Youth For Jo

4:29 AM

Youth For Jo,
An overnight vigil at school.

The first time I brought my new baby, the d5100 for a test-shot throughout the night.
A time where me and best-friends decided to join for it finally after 3 years of studying in our University.

It was a night to remember where students stayed up late for a concert to start with, the activity of bringing us and our friends closer to God and after were contest of the best Pedro Calungsod and also an acoustic jam and other intermission numbers. The event was then followed by a mass at 6 o clock in the morning.

There rest were moments to open up, stargaze and reflect on things that had been happening in our lives.

Although students like me who had 7am classes by the next morning had to suffer from a sleepless night but ended up being hyper in the end. (not to mention almost a day without having a shower... felt---really awkward)

As a person who has experienced this event, I therefore advice you students in other years to attend this every Second Semester of the school year under or not of any religious education courses.

Trust me. It was fun.
I used to say it was a waste of time or an overnight that my parents would surely forbid me of. But in the end, I took back all old assumed ideas and replaced them with ideas that night hard marked up in my head.

Guess all overnights are really fun. Continue reading →

Decisions, decisions....

0
11:30 AM

when people tend to have problems, they're caught in decisions because of side comments.
they're afraid on how others will react, on what they say that could affect them... more like..
they just don't want to hear what others have to say knowing it's contrary to what they REALLY WANT...

Thats a reason why they start to distance..
obviously we're hard headed.. no matter what others say, you don't actually follow them.. Do you?

why? It's because it's their parth, their life... If you say something and they follow it then something goes wrong?
who's in trouble?? Them.. not you... You're barely affected, but to them it's a big sucker punch in the face that labels them a loser leaving them even more miserable than they ever were..

but it doesn't mean that the person shouldn't listen to what others say.. they CAN.. but that's upto them..

One must have the freedom to write their story.. write it the way they want it to be..
not because a buyer or reader discriminated it or wanted to change the concept cause it doesn't fit their taste..

Just like writers... One must not only be a character but the author that no one can plagarise...
just like a book, it contains secrets... a path.. guiding lost ones...
influencing them with Something original..
something unique... something... You wouldn't think of doing but they've done it..

Something you can finally call your own..
A masterpiece...

Your life through hell... Your story.

Introduction

There are different reasons which brings us to the pits of a relationship..

at one point we answer one of the party's need for finding themselves...

"How about we separate for awhile?"

sometimes just the truth is enough...

"I don't love you anymore! can't you see? "

sometimes it's a war zone which turns into a tug of war or even divorce..

"How dare you! flirting with another woman behind my back! I declare war!"

sometimes its an understanding...

"I guess this is where it ends.. "
"mhmm.. guess it is.. "
"thank you for the memories... I guess I won't be able to find anyone else like you"
"mmm.. take care then"

most of the time it's the opposite...

Chapter One

"the break up"

"He broke up with me" I muttered.

Sam took a deep sigh,"That's what you get for being one-sided.. tsk tsk... I told you to tell him whenever you get hurt.  Now look what has happened, it's the other way around."

That's my childhood friend, Sam. We've been by each others side as long as I can remember. He was like a father, looking after me and mending my every bruise or pain. But most of the time he's the reason why I get in trouble.

Flashback:

Danielle's head kept bobbing, quite obvious that she was about to fall asleep during the Lecture of Mrs. Rianchi.

"Alright class, who can construct a sentence using the first person.  Anyone?"

Sam notices their teacher looking their way. He then writes something on a piece of paper then pokes Danielle's hips.

Danielle screams and looks at Sam, "Hey!".

Mrs. Rianchi turns to Danielle,"Yes, Ms.Ricci? would you like to cite an example?"

Danielle stands up and mutters, "uhhmm...I--- I-...".

"read this according to the instructions" Sam whispers as he puts the piece of paper on her table.

"I----I-- m a p-- ness.."

Mrs. Rianchi is shocked and scolds Danielle, "WHAT!? Where did you learn such language Ms. Ricci! You should be ashamed of yourself. To the principal's office, now!"

The class bursts into laughter as Danielle approaches the hallway. She turns around to look for Sam, but he's missing from his seat.

"Silence class! anyone else wants to join Ms. Ricci?" she looks at Danielle and continues. "Go on! keep walking, I'll meet you at the principal's office after  I find someone first to supervise the class for the meantime"

This was why I hated him so much.. but he knew his ways of getting back my trust...

Danielle walks past several classrooms, a few more steps away from the office until some tries to catch her attention.
"Pssstt.. come over here!" She turns around and finds Sam hiding in the gaps between the school lockers.

"Sam? what are y--". Sam pulls Danielle's arm  and covers her mouth. "Shh... they'll hear you.. lets get out of here."

"But---mmmfmmfmm".

Danielle struggles but Sam whispers to her, "Just follow me...".

They sneaked out of the school premises  and walked down a narrow road. while Danielle eyes is being covered by Sam.

"wh--eere are we?" Danielle stutters.

Sam uncovers her eyes, "we're at an amusement park silly.. oh and..." Sam looks around.

Danielle's eyes glisten as she sees the beautiful lights on every ride, "look Sam! There's a Ferris-wheel, isn't it beautiful?"

"yeah.. like you.. Happy Birthday Danielle..." Sam looks down.

"thank you Sam! for a second I thought this was going to be the worst birthday ever.. I thought you forgot all about it!" Danielle tears as she actions to hug Sam.

Sam blushes. "I would never forget such a special day.. especially if it's related to you.."

"you know what Sam.." Danielle unlocks her arms around him slowly, "I want to tell you something"...

"Look! There's the ice cream truck! what flavor would you like?", Sam quickly changes the topic as he turns red,but smiles at Danielle.

"uhmm.. I'd go for strawberry!". "Your treat?"Danielle smiles.

Sam nods and runs towards the ice cream truck. "I'd like to have one Chocolate and one Strawberry ice cream please!".

"Oh son I'm sorry we just gave out the last scoop of strawberry ice cream to the kid over there" says the ice cream man.

Sam signals Danielle to approach the truck, "Guess they were out of strawberry, I'm sorry.. maybe we could have something else?"

Danielle's smile disappears.

A boy suddenly approaches them. "uhhmm...y-you c-could h-ha-have mine if you want. I-- haven't touched it yet.."

Danielle turns around. "H-huh?"

"S-since you want strawberry so bad I guess you can have mines instead.. I-- I can get another flavor." he smiles as he reaches out the ice cream to Danielle.

Sam looks at him and then looks at Danielle, " r-really?..."

Danielle accepts the ice cream what a big smile or her face, "w--why thank you,,, thank you so much!"

Danielle's eyes glistens as her smile returns.

The boy smiles and reaches out his hand, "Oh and by the way my name's Dave.."

Sam  stands frozen watching the two exchanging looks.

That's Dave.. the guy I fell in love with over a stupid strawberry ice cream he offered on a day that was special... my birthday...

"I'm Danielle, and this is my friend Sam." says Danielle

"Hey Sam, it's nice to meet you." Dave reaches out his hand to Sam, but Sam looks at him and nods.

"O--kaaaay. guess we remain formal then." says Dave.

Danielle notices the awkward moment and interrupts the two.

"Hey... "Anyways! It's my birthday today, that's why we went out to get some ice cream, would you like to join us?.. " she giggles.

"O-- really?  I wouldn't mind but, it's getting really late, I have to be at my mom's office by 3:15 sharp. Still got 15 minutes on the road~"

"Wait..", Danielle checks her clock and finds out it's already 3 o'clock.

" What? its already this late?, Danielle panics and looks at Sam. "Oh no.. daddy's gonna be there anytime soon! we've gotta go Sam!"

"Guess I'll see you around here again tomorrow? to er--- talk some more?
" Dave smiles.

Danielle turns to Dave, "Oh sure! but not at the same ti--".

Dave interrupts Danielle while she tries to explain, "I'm from the same school too you know?".

Danielle turns red as she is embarrassed after noticing the same uniform, "Oh---yeah-- sorry..." she mutters.

Dave's dad's car arrives at the scene causing the conversation to end.

"Around lunch break then? I'll see you guys at the canteen. Okay?", Dave approaches the car.

Before Danielle could speak Dave gets into his dad's car and closes the door. "Bye guys!".

The car stood there for a minute, until the car window suddenly lowers.

"Oh and.. Happy Birthday Danielle!" Dave smiles as the car leaves.

"Bye Dave! t'was nice meeting you!" Danielle laughs, then looks at Sam.

"You ready?",  Danielle giggles as she looks at Sam.

Sam replies smiling, "Lets go! Last one to the gate is a monkey!"

(we both ran back to school, and eventually Sam won. I still got scolded by my Dad, although I didn't mind. It was worth it.. a birthday to remember...)

And thats where it all began...

hunger games

0
3:55 AM

The movie event of the year, from the best-selling epic novels by Suzanne Collins with a suspense whose odds be ever in your favor.

T H E   H U N G E R   G A M E S.

Hunger games is one of 2012's movies of the year which for me I recommend you a "must-watch". If you haven't seen it yet, grab a friend! a family member! oh and don't forget the tickets and to secure some snacks for a film of almost 3 hours you have to bear in your seat, which actually might change your mind sets.

I'm going to give you a lil spoiler, but if I were you? Read the book first. No, not so you can nagg on how emphasized the book may be but..
TRUST ME. if you were a director, every bit'a line in there? mhmm. in the so called "script" won't actually be every single movement once converted in to film.

12 districts picks a boy and girl to fight to the deaths, where in the games will change everyone as the world will be watching.
In this film it has a twist of adventure, romance and wee-bit-of thrill.

so hey! I'm not gonna spoil it for you. Get out and watch it in 2D or 3D. Your choice. ;)

Louder

0
8:21 AM
HEHEHE. Nevermind my face. I promoting my fez in le video. xD
(link is at the end of this post)

It's time to let my HEART speak LOUDER than my HEAD.
these were the words Charice Pempengco had sung in one of her latest viral Music Videos giving teenagers another song to relate to with a hip-up beat that made my heart thump the moment I heard the lyrics.

It also reminds me on how words in a song can actually ease one's soul and let them relate to the songs they listen or make them feel good about themselves.

Some say people listen to particular genres according to their moods, while some listen to songs with the words they're afraid to say. It's time to skip up my beat.

Pressuring weeks of piled up projects of shoots, scripts, movies, music videos and others caught my attention. Then I realized I actually really loved the course I was in.

In the first place it wasn't much of a big deal as long as I would graduate. With a title or without, I didn't care. Till I met these guys.

It wasn't much of a hassle working with them like other pressure projects to attend to. This had fun in it, memories, although there were times where time was a hindrance we still had our moments.

Though I can't relate to the lyrics, I love the beat, I love these guys in it, I love myself for pusching through with my imagination.

For a first timer in Adobe premiere TBH, I started from scratch the moment I made our music video. As days passed by I was catching up slowly by slowly. I loved it. For a week straight I dedicated a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 15 in a day; compile it together? You wouldn't wanna know how long. May be to little compared to others but... hey~ I'm a first timer. Not an excuse but I know I've done my part and I'm proud of myself.

If i can't excel in things I hope to be yet don't make a difference, I'll stick to the things I love and I know I'll grow into it sooner or later.

MassCom... Bring it on! 2 years down; another two to go. No plans of shifting now. I Think I've found my path already :)

I might need a shoulder, I ain't saying that I'm a soldier. I just wanna feel something I don't understand. :)
thanks Charice. I may not be a big fan of yours. But you made an impact on my being.

To sir Maxino, Abet thank you for this wonderful project for our 2013 ABET awards. More Glory and more Power after 20+ years of service in SanJo. :) Adelante Masscom Students!

Sneak peak. Watch our Video. ;) <3

A declamation compensation

0
10:28 AM

A DECLAMATION COMPENSATION
 Declamation; Worth it?

During our Effective Communication class,
each student were assigned to memorize a piece
during our Christmas break.
others chose pieces that suited their tones and
a piece they could somewhat relate to.
although mines was different...

It all started way back in ninth grade,
when we had our speech improvement class
a certain Ms. Jen, had asked us to memorize pieces
although it was a declamation and an oratorical category.

For my declamation piece back then,
I chose "we have become untrue to ourselves" by Felix Bautista
while my oratorical piece was my very own favorite called
"Home" by Alonzo Barbaza.
we recited our own pieces as the big day approached
till a close friend of mine had recited his piece called the "Lost Generation"
that he had seen from the internet, through research.
this piece had caught my attention ever since.
So this is when I decided...

"This year! I will join our speech fest
once again for the declamation category
and recite the piece the "Lost Generation"! "

Sad to say... I missed the auditions, since I wasn't informed
that the auditions had been transferred to another room in the building.

All the sleepless night I stayed up
retyping and typing oratorical and declamation pieces,
till that day of agony had struck me..

I ended up mentioning it to a friend I've met not so long ago,
although feels like I've known the person that long already.
I mentioned about my piece and the person found it interesting
and asked me to write it down on his journal.
He was too inspired by the piece that he decided to make
a poem of his own that is quite similar to it.

Every single meeting, a paragraph would be written
till i'd be able to finish it.
and during the process, it made me memorize the piece
by heart and helped me sooner or later during my EfCom class.

So sleepless nights or not, It was worth the piece.
*hail the composer. ;)

Someday.... I shall make my own piece as well..

Moonlight Shadow

0
3:07 AM

Did I tell you how addicted I am to moons and stars?
too bad I wasn't able to take a shot of the moon
during the lunar eclipse weeks ago.

That is how beautiful it looked like a night after it.
That same night as the lunar eclipse gave me time
to realize a lot of things as I took time to gaze.
The sky was filled with sky lights.
with stars so bright, I'd trace a name if I had to :)

As I analyzed  things and tried to connect dots
even if they were so far off, a shooting star passed by.
Yes, another thing I am so fond of, but never actually saw one
EVER.... until now...
we were at the rooftop of my classmate's house, stargazing
I was too busy in my own problems that they shouted out
"OMG, a shooting star!"
the exact time I turned my back on the area where it passed.

from that night I challenged myself to stare at the sky
when I have nothing to do, or think of
just to relax once in awhile.. and once I'd...

"Catch a falling star,
and put it in your pocket,
never let it fade away~"

oh nostalgia. why are you doing this to me?
sigh.. the next time I see a shooting star
I want to see it with a person who would
mean a lot to me. may it be family or best friends :)

Happy Birthday Mom!

0
6:49 AM

Today is the 10th of November 2011.
The day when the most beautiful woman I've met on earth was born.
The one who went through all 16 years of my life by my side.
She's now another year older, but she's still beautiful to me.
Always is, always will be. Too bad she's away from me at this moment.
Lying in her bed, maybe with the ceiling lights off,
But as usual with the favorite blue lamp of hers on.
Nope, she isn't afraid of the dark, she just likes to leave it on.
I wonder what she must be thinking at this moment.
Could she be awake, praying the rosary?
Or could she be soundly asleep in her king bed?
Too bad she isn't feeling well..
she couldn't sleep, like when she was here at home aswell.
Ate said they couldn't celebrate because of that.
So on behalf, we celebrated it here aswell.
Imagining that she was here, still... with the family.

I miss her... so much....
oh wait... . who is she, you ask?
Well, she's the loveliest woman alive for me.
and yeap! she's my mom.
mark that.

Friends of mine even liked it when she was around.
Cause mom's the friendly, loving, and fun kind.
especially when she had a box of chocolates!
mhmmm... how delicious they were.

well... enough of food for now.. though I'm a bit hungry..
I just wanted to let you guys all know that..

Even if i'm far away,
I'd celebrate this day.
A day that means so much to her,
once a year, that it occurs.

Three simple words "Happy Birthday mom"
is all for now I'd say.
and ask her guardian angel to keep her safe
each day, i pray.

I love my mom with all my heart,
I'd say it everyday.
though distance may keep us apart
deep in my heart she'll stay.

I LOVE YOU MOM! Happy Birthday. ;)

Aunt Leonora's 50th Birthday Party

0
8:26 AM
During November 5th's evening, was the celebration of one of our aunts.
She just turned 50 and decided to celebrate it like every 18th birthday of a young lady,
but hers had a theme of gold, like wedding anniversaries when they last 50 years.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE NORIE!

Her daughter, Lisa had traveled all the way from New York to Cebu just for her moms birthday and so did her Husband, Uncle Paul. It was a mix of a surprise programs, but planned celebration.
So Lets just say it was "kinda" a surprise. ;) She had 50 yellow roses and a big bouquet from her husband... although funny part was him holding a glass of beer while walking towards her.

The sisters had planned a program for the guests and celebrants attending.
The presentations were either a song or a dance number per "sala" family.

According to our MC, the Sala Family was a "talented family", ( mark that )
I do believe that. So with talents, we decided to use what we're good at to heat up the party. Oh la la.~

Eventually it were her nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters performing. Of course, I was part of it as well.

First, The Sala's know how to dance!
we had a remix dance number called " If you seek amy, teach me how to dougie on the floor." Aaaand--- No, I am not posting up a video of our presentation for I am ashamed of myself, aaaand the dance ended up being blaaaah. Like any other fail dance would go too, haha.
But what was important was that we had fun, and---- were able to use our steps during disco time. TUGS TUGS TUGS. Haha!
Then we had a dance number from Hanah Deb and her partner Jeffrey, performing "Candy Man" and "Perhaps". Since my cousin Hanah, is into ballroom dancing or what we call "dance sports", she was our personal Dance Instructor for the dance number too! But that's not it!- The Sisters danced "Sway" aswell! on the spot practice! Isn't that awesome? It went well though and they enjoyed it aswell.

Second, The Sala's know how to sing aswell! Again me, Tommy James, Agnes Rose, Patricia Sala, and John Gabriel dedicated our version of "Just the way you are" by bruno mars and "Price Tag" pacquiao version, to our dear celebrant.

Third, Even though he wasn't a Sala by blood but a part of the family, Uncle Itik wrote a poem. Oh diba? ang galing. Too bad I wasn't able to take a shot of it because I was too busy gobbling up the delicious chocolate mousse with a custard like base then whip cream dessert with a cherry on top. Oh gosh, it was too delicious I had 5 shot glasses of them. Din't care if it was just left on the table untouched and no one was sitting there. Hey! It called out for me. ;)

and then finally... when it was almost time to hit the covers, then came the.... TUGS TUGS TUGS TUGS, that woke everyone's spirits and decided to tag along in our CONNGAAAA!~

We enjoyed the train, cool blue-light disco which-turned-white-shirts-into-blue-glow-in-the-darks. :D
On the other hand all men decided to go all manly and hold either a glass or a bottle of beer, if not they must have already vacuumed it all up before getting on stage. But then, since we ran out of time, and we couldn't extend another hour because it was getting late and all they wanted to do was dance, a few decided to go to MO2 ( disco area here in cebu ) but ended up going home first to freshen up. Isn't that funny? Freshening up before going to a disco bar? Well I do find it funny anyways.

Then there ends the night, and comes the dawn. Where we leave November 5 behind and move on to 6, which is Kuya Enggel's Birthday, aaand--- brings us to Sunflower at 12 o'clock in the morning.

The beginning

0
1:06 PM
Oh hello there new blog, guess I'll be sticking to two blog sites now eh? :)
I don't know what got into me now, but.. time check.. it's currently 4 o'clock in the morning,
Now the 6th of  November 2011, and I decided to make a blog, that talks all about my recent hobby.. or favorite pastime...

"Photography" .... it's a big word isn't it? when you try to explain, simply it's just an image that speaks a thousand words, sometimes even more than what an ordinary human can be capable of imagining.

I've decided to make a journal entry about every important event that happens in my life,  may it be occasions, whatsoever I find interesting to cover about, or  just maybe something which brings me and my camera forth to a moment to remember.

So I'll start off at Exactly 4:05 am with my next post about the latest happening...

My dearest aunty Norie Sarkany's 50th Birthday celebration, which now brings me to this inspiring moment
to blog all about it. :)
wish me good luck on this decision.. no regrets. ;) Continue reading →
